Women’s Bean Project ~ Review

The Women’s Bean Project was established in 1989. Their mission is to help women break the cycle of poverty and unemployment. They offer job readiness training opportunities to help women learn skills and find jobs, so they can support themselves and their families.

Women’s Bean Project has a large variety of Gourmet Food, Gift Baskets and Bundles, as well as handmade jewelry.

I’d like to try the Southwest Blend Salsa Mix. It looks so good! But then, all their salsa’s do~! Or maybe even their Fair Trade Coffee. When you buy from the Women’s Bean Project, not only do you help women break the cycle of poverty, you also help support a family farm, a woman owned company, and an environmentally responsible supplier.

The jewelry is beautiful. Each piece is signed by the woman who made it, and comes with a Women’s Bean Project Sterling Silver tag. It comes in an organza bag and a kraft paper box. That makes it so special!

Since 1989 the Women’s Bean Project has helped more than 18,000 women and their children. Many of the women employed by the Women’s Bean Project are single mothers. Having been a single mother for many years I can tell you it is not easy. I went from being a stay at home mom one day, to having to find a job and support myself and my four children the next, because of unforseen circumstances. If I had been able to have access to a program like the one the Women’s Bean Project offers, it would have made my life, and my childrens’ lives alot smoother in the transition. This is a worthwhile project helping women who might have felonies, or a lack of job skills, get a smooth start towards supporting themselves and straightening out their lives.
Please go visit the Women’s Bean Project site. Purchase jewelrysalsa, gift basket, or other gourmet foods. Help a woman find her own way.
