The Last Bully
*I was sent a copy of Hugo the Happy Starfish – The Last Bully, to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Deep in the ocean lives a little starfish named Hugo. Hugo has a big heart and a curious mind. He loves to help his fellow fish learn valuable lessons about character, lifeskills, and ecological awareness. Hugo the Happy Starfish: The Last Bully tells about Hugo and how he and his friends start the ABC club (Anti Bullying Club).
Bullying is wrong, and as Hugo says, “What goes around comes around and there’s always a bigger fish in the ocean!” Throughout the book Hugo sees bigger fish picking on smaller ones, and he tells each the same thing. It’s not long before those ‘big’ fish realize Hugo and his friends are right, and they come to join the club.
Hugo is the star of several books in a series that spotlights character growth for children…
“The key theme behind the HUGO THE HAPPY STARFISH series is that building character based on a positive attitude leads to a happy, self-confident and successful human being. I have written this exciting series of children’s books to help educate children about their feelings, their attitude, their choices, and the consequences that follow.“
I love that each of these books holds more than one lesson. Each book offers a themed vocabulary to introduce the reader to the Spanish language. Not only will these books be good for my grandchildren, my teen sons can get some good from them too. It was so much fun to watch my teens read the book to my grandchildren!
I love the beautiful illustratons in this series! My grandson kept pointing to Simon the Shark and saying “Shark! Shark!” The illustrations are bright and colorful, and my grandkids loved them.
Suzy Liebermann is a German born liguist who now lives in the USA. She has traveled the world in pursuit of language, art and culture. She now shares these with teachers, parents and children through her educational literature. She wrote the series in hopes that she could help educate children about their feelings, attitude, choices, and the consequences reached by those choices. I love that she took the time to sign my review book!
I recommend this series to anyone with young children. These books can make a great difference in helping them build their character!
