Renovation Resolutions – Friday On The Farm!

It’s a HAPPY New Year

I will admit, I thought this day would never come. Today I paid my last house payment. My house, my home is finally my own.  Now it’s time to renovate! Hahaha! I’ve had the house for a little over 15 yrs. It definitely needs some TLC. Recently we put up a backsplash in our kitchen, which I posted about. Hubby also put new Pergo flooring down in the kitchen.

Mia Bella loves this floor! Her toys slide across it really fast!

This floor makes my kitchen look so nice! And it’s easy to keep clean!

While I do love this flooring, it is winter, and this flooring gets cold! I put on my socks before I come out of the bedroom! Now, Hubby wants to continue with this flooring into the living room, and down the hallway. He says he wants to put it through out the house. I’m thinking we are going to need rugs!

I have a gorgeous rug in the living room. It’s a Mohawk that I won last year. It will keep the living room floor from freezing my feet off. I want to get a braided rug for the kitchen, and a runner for the hallway. Of course, we’ll probably need rugs for the boys rooms too, if he carries the Pergo into them, but we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it!

That’s not the end of the renovations though. Over the next year, we hope to renovate the boys’ bathroom, and replace the plastic sinks in both bathrooms with enameled sinks that we picked up at a garage sale last year. New countertops in the kitchen are also on the list, so keep your eyes open! There will be a lot of changes in the year ahead, and I’ll be post about them all!

What one room in your home would you love to renovate?

What is the name of the Pergo laminate that you are showing? It is very pretty.

    • Karen, it is a discontinued color. It was oak is all I can remember. It was one of the lesser expensive grade of Pergo, but it was Pergo. When we went back to get more to do the living room, we discovered it was discontinued, so I had to choose a different kind for the rest of the house. Hubby was upset, but I don’t think it’s a big deal. The closest I see on the Pergo website is Haley Oak.
