Diamonds of the Sea
*I received a beautiful string of pearls to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
I’ve heard of pearls being given to girls when they graduate, or to a wife when she has her first child, but I had never owned a string of pearls until I received these cultured pearls from Kranich’s for review. To me, they are the diamonds of the sea. They are precious jewels from the ocean; beautiful little orbs, flashing their colors to please the eye…
Ok, before I get all poetic and I have to go grab my poem notebook, let me tell you how pearls are ‘made’. Pearls happen when a piece of sand, or any microscopic irritant, gets inside a mollusk (clam). To stop the irritation, the clam will spin a substance around the irritant, forming a pearl. In the past they had to kill many clams to find natural pearls. Now, pearls are cultured by depositing the irritants in the clams. The pearls are harvested at a later date.
These pearls are absolutely beautiful. The knots between each pearl tells me they were well strung. The clasp is a safety clasp and is strong as well as attractive.
Pearls get their ‘luster’ or shine from the different thickness of the layers. Thinner layers produce a more lusterous pearl. If you look very closely at a real pearl, you can see they look like little clouds. I love the pale, pastel blues and pinks that shimmer across their surface. They’ll ‘go’ with anything in your closet! I don’t think I ever saw Grace Kelly without pearls!
Kranich’s Jewelers has a huge variety of pearl jewelry, as well as birthstone jewelry, designer diamond jewelry, and just about any other kind of jewelry you could want. They have beautiful Mother’s Rings as well as Art Carved Engagement rings! Any of the jewelry at Kranich’s would be perfect for Valentine’s Day. I can’t imagine a woman being upset with a Valentine’s Day gift from Kranich’s!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
