Spring? Hello? Spring? ~ WW

Spring? Hello? Spring? ~ WW

“…and I ain’t seen the sunshine…

…since, I don’t know when…” For some reason this line from Johnny Cash’s Folsom Prison Blues has been pounding in my head for the last couple of days. That reason could possibly be that it has been raining or cloudy, and I’m really missing the sun. Weather man tells us that will happen this afternoon, but for now, I thought it might be nice to spend some time amidst the flowers of last Spring.

Daffodil - my favorite Spring flower!

Narcissus. These, and all the flowers in the Daffodil family, are my very favorites. When I see them starting to poke their heads through the ground in the corner of my flower bed, it just makes me smile, knowing Spring is coming!

Wisteria blooms by my driveway in the Spring

Wisteria covers the tree by our driveway at the start of Spring. Then wisteria petals cover my driveway.

Pretty Spring Hibiscus at Memory Park

This beautiful Hibiscus grows in Memory Park. It’s a little park in town to honor our local veterans. These beautiful pink flowers are as big as your head! You can see my son standing among them in this WW post from the past.

Have NO idea what kind of flower this is. Spring at Memory Park

These are ‘Pride of Barbados’, Dwarf Poinciana or Bird of Paradise (Caesalpinia pulcherrima). Aren’t they beautiful?! These are also at Memory Park, but I hope to someday have them on our property.

I hope this tiny bit of Spring has helped. I know it has been good therapy for me. This just made me want to start planning for Spring gardening, both veggie and flowers!

What’s in your garden? Anything fancy or special? Show me!! I want to see!

Come share your Wordless Wednesday posts! I want to see your beautiful pics! Please be nice and leave a comment if you leave your link!

  1. Thanks for the reminder that beautiful spring flowers WILL appear again (we hope!)

    • Oh, Erika, I’m sure they will. LOL! I know it doesn’t seem like it with the Winter we’ve all had, but soon! Soon, the flowers will return! I’m preparing myself to not complain about the high hot temps that I know will follow with the entrance of Summer. Texas just gets so hot and muggy!

  2. Oh wow, yah it does not look like that here!! LOL. I am soooo jealous of your beautiful flowers! I love winter and snow, but this year I am so ready for spring!

  3. All so beautiful!! We have hibiscus here, and our Pride of Barbados looks like butterflies when it bloms (I love it)! Wisteria is my favorite, I had it as a flower at my wedding, though they were fake. I think it’s too hot here to grow them, but I’ll have to find out. I LOVE THEM!

    • Thanks Alesha! I do love that Pride of Barbados, and it DOES look like butterflies! I have to find it at a nursery so I can plant it all over here!

  4. So pretty! It’s going to be a looooong time before I see any of these beauties around here in Ohio, but oh gosh I can not wait for spring.
