Phillips’ Milk of Magnesia Vintage Bulldog Bottle

Cute Vintage Bulldog Pill Bottle from Phillips' Milk of Magnesia

Isn’t he adorable?! The family went to the general auction at Magnolia Gardens Auction House last night. It’s starting to become a monthly outing for us. I went for the first time last month with the boys, but this month Hubby went with us. We ended up with several wonderful vintage pieces!

Vintage Bulldog Bottle from Phillips' Milk of Magnesia Pills

This little vintage bulldog pill bottle was one of my favorite pieces out of all the boxes Hubby bid on and won. I got a couple of beautiful tablecloths, some nice glassware, and a wonderful vintage bean pot. I’m sure you’ll see them all sooner or later! If you are near the Houston/Magnolia/Montgomery/Woodlands/Conroe area of Texas, you’ll want to check out the general auction night (First Tuesday of each month) and the Antique/Vintage auctions (every Saturday night) at Magnolia Gardens Auction House. It’s always a lot of fun, and Tina always offers beautiful pieces!

  1. Oh I love your find! Very cute. I have a small collection of some vintage items including a Planter’s Peanut cookie jar and some vintage tins.

  2. How cute! That sounds like a fun outing on the weekends. Thanks for the linky!

  3. What a find!

  4. Never seen one like that before, great find!

  5. That little guy is adorable!! So, are your finds worth anything? My husband and I love to watch Storage Wars on A&E and so that’s what came to mind when you mentioned auction. 😉

    • I love Storage Wars too, as well as Storage Wars, Texas, and Container Wars!! This time we found a few nice pieces. One is a 1913 Higbee toothpick holder with the Hawaiian Lei or Gala design. I saw one like it listed on eBay for $90, so that was a good find! Also, a little train shaped candy bottle that sells for between $20 and $40. Hubby also got a brand spanking new Sirius Satellite radio for $20. I got some nice linens (tablecloths and fabric napkins). I’ll crochet edges around the napkins and then sell them on my Etsy site. I’ll use the tablecloths on my table!

  6. Laura says:

I love your find! That dog is adorable. I don’t think that we have any auction houses nearby, but we do have a really awesome fleamarket during the summer. I cannot wait for warm weather!

    • Laura, I love flea markets too. We have a ton of flea markets around us, and they are so much fun! I’ve found some really nice antiques at flea markets. Sometimes people don’t realize that things are really antiques. If the items have just ‘always been around’ they don’t think about how valuable they could be because of their age.

  7. I’ll have to see if we can find any auctions near us. We used to go back in MN and had a blast. My boys enjoyed going. That’s a cool dog. What are you going to do with it?

    • The dog is sitting on a display shelf in my kitchen, with some other antiques that I’ve collected. I just love the auction. You should find one for you and the boys to visit!

  8. What a great find! I love going to auctions and garage sales just to see what I can find.

  9. That is really cool.
