Dessert In Minutes with Yoplait!
*This post is graciously, and flavorfully, sponsored by Yoplait Greek 100 Whips! but the opinions are all my own!
Most of you who follow me on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram already know I am working (working hard, or hardly working??) on losing some weight. I haven’t been so good with exercise in the past, so I decided making small steps toward healthier lifestyles was a better approach. I bought a Garmin Vivofit to give me a little motivation to move, and I’ve made some changes in my eating habits. Great, right? Yes, but skipping dessert with my family in the evenings was proving to be a huge challenge for me. Yoplait Greek 100 Whips! has helped me solve that problem!!
First, who wants the word ‘healthy’ anywhere near the word ‘dessert’?! In fact, I am having to retrain my brain not to automatically go into ‘ignore’ mode. You should see the look on my teen boys faces when I say the word ‘healthy’ in regards to food… almost as if I purposely mixed brussel sprouts into whatever food I’m talking about. Yoplait Greek 100 Whips! are so full of flavor, they help trick your brain into thinking you really are having dessert! Ok, kids would never consider a cup of whipped yogurt to be dessert, so what’s a mom to do? Mini Strawberry Mousse Cups!
Ok, maybe the Valentine’s candies aren’t completely ‘healthy’, but my teen boys are ADHD and definitely don’t need to worry about losing any weight! You can totally dress these up with berries or diced fruit or even a tiny bit of shaved dark chocolate for a better choice calorie-wise. They are great for parties as well, since they take only minutes to put together. That means you get to spend more time with your guests and less time in the kitchen!
I buy the little shortbread tartlet shells at Kroger, but I’m sure your store would have something similar. (Trust me, I totally let my brain think about using those little chocolate dessert cups for about a half second!) Just fill them with a large spoonful of Yoplait Greek 100 Whips! and add a little garnish (candy, shaved chocolate, berries or fruit) to the top, and voila! A healthier dessert alternative!
