I don’t know about you, but with twelve grandchildren, any holiday around here is a mad-house frenzy! I try to make sure everything is done before the big event, and then we just have to reheat and eat! Of course, it helps that all my grown kids bring a side dish, but my teen boys still at home love to contribute as well. I always try to find an easy sweet dessert recipe that the boys can complete and use as their contribution. Some kind of “Holiday Bark” recipe usually ends up being my boys’ go-to contribution. They love it because it’s kind of a controlled mess. What boy doesn’t love to make a mess?! This recipe is so easy, even the younger children in your house can help!

NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Springtime Morsels in Easter Bark

This year the boys chose to decorate their Easter Bark with Jelly Beans, various Easter candies, Easter-themed baking decorations, and sprinkles. I added NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Chocolate Chip Morsels that I picked up on our last trip to Walmart. I think they add a little Spring and Easter color!

Walmart keeps NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Morsels on the Baking aisle in the middle of a main aisle!

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees farenheit.
  2. Line a jelly roll pan with waxed paper and set aside.
  3. Melt confectioners’ coating in the top of a double boiler over barely simmering water, stirring frequently and scraping down the sides of the bowl to prevent scorching.
  4. Spread melted confectioners coating in prepared pan and sprinkle with NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Spring Chocolate Chip Morsels, Easter candies, etc. Press into confectioners’ coating. Refrigerate about an hour or until firm. Break into pieces and serve!

The boys making Easter Bark with NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Springtime Morsels!

After we slid the pan into the fridge to set up, I took the boys’ minds off the candy with a snack. There’s nothing better to take a kids mind off something than food, right? Especially when that food is the New HOT POCKETS® Snack Bites that I found at Walmart!

My boys love NESTLE® HOT POCKETS® Snack Bites!

The boys just love these little morsels of goodness, so I will be keeping them on hand. I like that they have 100% real cheese and premium meats, but mostly I love that they satisfy my teen boys’ hunger.

My boys LOVE NESTLE® HOT POCKET® Snack Bites!

When they have HOT POCKETS® Snack Bites for snack, I can keep them out of the kitchen until I get dinner on the table.

In this case, it kept them occupied until the Easter Bark was finished!

What are your ideas for keeping the holidays less stressful?

  1. Wow Kay… twelve grandchildren? I bet you are a busy grandma. So glad your boys liked the Hot Pockets Snack Bites. Thanks! #client

  2. Did you say 12 grandchildren oh wow. I know my grandmother has more but not on the other side of the pond. It’s amazing when family come together mess or not it’s still awesome. I love nestle and can not wait for Easter

  3. brook devis says:

wow…its always great relaxing during the holidays. i never heard about these here in italy but these snacks looks delicious. i will look for them 🙂 thanx for sharing. keep having fun

  4. There isn’t much holiday bustle happenin’ over on our parts. I think this Easter I’ll get a couple of treats out for my husband but other than that, we like to usually cook a nice ham + scalloped potatoes for supper. Then shortly after that I’m heading back home (10+ hour flight) to visit my family!! 🙂

  5. That Easter Bark recipe looks so yummy! I scrolled a bit too fast at first and saw the Hot Pockets, then the bark picture. For a moment I thought “chocolate covered Hot Pocket Minis???” Now I’m thinking, “hey, why not, they have chocolate covered bacon,” lol! But I read and realize that you did not, in fact, make choco-covered Hot Pockets. I love making bark because you can really put anything in it.

  6. Your house seems like it is the place to go for some yummy snacks. I love the idea of having everything ready and only having to reheat once everyone is in attendance for a family meal…but I always tend to be running behind. The bark idea is great for any holiday!

  7. Wow, this is a great idea for kids to snack on! You have a very big family and it’s nice that the house can turn really happy when everyone is present. Time will come when all of your grandchildren will grow up as adults. It would be fun to know what food they can think of and prepare for you. 🙂

  8. I had no idea that Hot Pockets made snack bites. Your Easter bark looks delicious and would be a great treat for the holiday! I love finding new recipes like this to try for the holidays.

    • Tammilee, Hot Pockets® Snack Bites are new and only available at certain Walmarts right now. I’m sure they’ll be available everywhere soon though, because they are so good!

  9. Everything looks good. I keep forgetting Easter is so close. I feel so unprepared this year for all holidays and they just seem to sneak up on me. I am not sure if we are going to be doing anything for Easter this year or not.

  10. I didn’t know that Hot Pockets made snack bites, either! 🙂 I cannot wait to try them! Your Easter Bark recipe looks really good, too! What a fun thing to do with your children. 🙂
