Wordless Wednesday At The Zoo

Wordless Wednesday At The Zoo

Houston Zoo

Here are just a few pictures from our trip to the Houston Zoo in July. We had promised the boys we would go as part of vacation.

It was a very hot day when I took these pictures. Many of the animals weren’t even out because it was so hot and humid. We spent pretty much the whole day there. We love the zoo because it gives us the chance to visit and learn a little about animals that we would otherwise never see. The Houston Zoo contributes to the preservation of so many animals, through ticket sales, membership dues, and fund raisers. We buy a ‘grandparents’ membership every year. This helps me be able to share all these wonderful animals with my grandchildren, while contributing to their preservation.

Do you like to visit your local zoo? What is your favorite animal?

Comments

  1. The kids and I LOVE visiting our local zoo. We live 10 minutes away and have an annual membership.

    • Ohhhh, the zoo is one of my most favorite places to go! If I didn’t have to drive myself, (it’s in Downtown Houston), I would go at least twice a week while the kids are in school!

  2. We haven’t been to the zoo for a couple of years. We loved the silly chimpanzees, the lazy warthogs, and the ostriches. The giraffes and the lion was also very impressive. 🙂

  3. It’s been quite a while since we have been to the zoo. The closest one is about an hour away. That Piranha is kinda scary looking! I’m sure your kids enjoyed it though!

    • Avry, those piranha were HUGE. You don’t think about them getting big when you see them in the horror movies, but they get about the size of a dinner plate. YEAH! They were pretty scary looking.
