Disney’s Grand Adventure with Teens

Disney’s Grand Adventure with Teens

For Kids of All Ages (Even Teens!)

*My family was chosen for the #DisneyGrandAdventure. This is part of that wonderful vacation.

I know, it’s been a while since I started our story about Walt Disney World.  I’ve dropped the ball, but I’m picking it back up again. Today, I want to give you the ‘short story’ on our Walt Disney World trip, and then I think on Mondays, I’ll be coming back to tell you the little details of different things I saw, and to show you allllll the memories I captured.

I also want you to see that Walt Disney World is a wonderful place for everyone – no matter how young or old. You know the story about how my love affair with Mickey started. I wish my parents had taken me to Disney way way back then. When I walked into our resort suite, I knew the magic had enveloped us.

Just look at that tub! My teens spent much time here!

My youngest had to get ice immediately, even though there are ice trays in the freezer!

You can see more pictures of the suite we stayed in on the facebook page in the folder marked WDW Saratoga Springs Resort Suite.

Everyone from the youngest toddler to the oldest grandparent would love Walt Disney World. There are so many rides, and shows, that are perfect for your younger children. To be honest, because I was with my teens, I did not get to enjoy the younger side of Walt Disney World. Some of my colleagues did bring young children. They got the most adorable Princess Makeovers for the girls, and Pirate Makeovers for the boys. Next time I will bring the little grandchildren! If you have Instagram or Twitter you can search #DisneyGrandAdventure and see the pictures of how adorable they are.

There is some type of transportation to get where ever you need to go at Walt Disney World. Every morning we would board a bus to the park, and there was always excitement about the day ahead. In the evenings when we would board another bus to go back to our resort. I really expected to hear at least a little whining in the evenings, but if I did, I don’t remember. Everyone was so tired, and the children were so exhausted, they fell asleep – even my teens.

My teens love the Rock 'N' Roller Coaster

Teens are amazing creatures. Irritated with you one minute and begging you to ride the Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith with them the next. Who am I to argue? I absolutely love Aerosmith, and I’m crazy about roller coasters! The Rock ‘N’ Roller coaster is crazy! It does these spirals and you go upside down in the dark! Or maybe that’s because my eyes were closed…. Speaking of roller coasters, we also rode the Seven Dwarves Mine Train. The boys thought it would be for little children, because the height requirement is 38 inches. It didn’t go upside down like the Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster, but it was wonderful for roller coaster addicts like me. Check out the look on my sons’ faces!

My sons weren't ready for this to be a real roller coaster!

My family has fallen in love with the magic that is Walt Disney World. I plan on making many trips to bring all of my grandchildren to experience the magic. I know there is magic at Walt Disney World because everyone at Walt Disney World was so polite. The whole time we were there, we only encountered one rude person – and that wasn’t even someone that worked there. How many vacations have you been on where you could make that boast? I wonder if they pay the fairies to sprinkle magic dust on everyone to keep it that way?

This is video my youngest son took, of the fireworks we watched from the Boardwalk on our last night at Walt Disney World. The disturbance in the middle of the video is when my son put his ‘magic glasses’ on the lens of his camera. You can see the ‘Mickey Mouse heads’ in the fireworks!

Next week I’ll share pictures of some of the different resorts located on the Walt Disney World property. There are so many different ones, you’ll be glad I shared!

Have you been to any Disney park? If you have, where have you been, and what was your favorite part? If you haven’t been, what do you want to see most?

  1. That looks like a great time! I went, but it’s been 13 yrs now. =( I hope to get back by spring of next year to Disney World. It’s absolutely magical there. I’m so glad you had the opportunity to go!

  2. We went to Universal Studios on our honeymoon. If we would have had more time (and a little extra money) we probably would have visited more of the Disney parks.

  3. I’ve never been to any of the Disney parks and can’t wait to go! So exciting to read about your amazing time! I appreciate you sharing because we are planning to go within the next two years so I need all of the info I can get! The fireworks look like they were awesome! Love the picture of your family on the mine ride, too!
