Where Does Your Soul Stand
*I received a copy of this movie to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Jonathan Wright is a successful businessman. He has a beautiful wife and daughter, good friends, and is on his way up in the world. Jonathan suffers a brain aneuriysm and has to pretty much start all over. His wife stands with him, as well as most of his good friends. While in the hospital his friend Paul prays over him, that he will make his way back. Little does Paul know that this prayer will touch more than just Jonathan, it will help him find eternal salvation in the Lord.
In the months and years to come, Jonathan makes his way back physically, and Paul helps him find his way to the Lord. There are so many touching moments in this movie. Jonathan loses his job in a merger, and falls away from God and the church. His friendship with Paul helps to bring him back, and he realizes that God has always been with him.
This movie touched my heart in so many ways. It shows us that when we as Christians fall away, God is still there, waiting for us to realize how much we need him, and to come home. I was baptized when I was a teenager, and as a young adult, like Jonathan, I fell away from the church. Having been raised in the church, I knew God was always there for me, and I still believed and trusted Him. I am so happy that as a Christian, God will always forgive us when we repent, and follow Him. Like the prodigal son (Luke 15:11-32), we will always be welcomed back, forgiven, and treated like we had never left. This is a movie everyone should see. It’s rated 5 Doves – Dove “Faith-Friendly” For Ages 12 and over. I love how it included full immersion baptism, since so many churches now-days tend to leave out that all too important part of coming forward and being saved.
