Have a Healthier Easter with Halos® California Mandarins!
Ok, so the Easter bunny brings chocolate bunnies and beautiful colored eggs. Now, I’m not going to stand in the way of anyone who lets me tie-dye my chickens’ eggs, but if you have to have chocolate anything, why not make it Chocolate Covered Halos? These California mandarins are magnificent covered in chocolate!
I haven’t found a kid yet that doesn’t like Halos. In fact, between the boys and the grandkids, it’s hard enough for me to keep Halos in the house, adding chocolate just makes it harder because then the Moms want them too! That’s how I got the idea to set up the chocolate fountain at Easter, and provide fruit to dip into it – including wonderful Halos® California mandarin sections.
Now, I think you can tell by the pictures how much fun they had. Honestly the Halos® California mandarins were the first to go, and the kids didn’t even dip them in chocolate before they ate them. They just grabbed a couple and headed out the door!
I’ll be starting on Nutrisystem in April (more to come on this soon!) so I’m trying to start eating less junk food and processed sugars. That means I’ll be eating less cupcakes, and more fruits. Did you know that one Halo California mandarin has roughly 50 calories? That makes them a much more healthy snack choice. They are also chock full of Vitamin C! I’m sure I’ll be buying even more Halos® in the future (hmm. I guess that means boxes instead of a bag or a box per week.
Here are a few crafts from Halos® you can whip up to make Easter extra special! Just click on the pictures to go straight to the tutorials.
These little chicks are so cute! I think they’d be even better if you used felt to make them instead of paper!
I love these little baskets! You could use any fancy cupcake paper to make them, and if you have a Cricut machine, you could cut your own. I will be trying this adorable craft soon!
Just look at these cute little bunnies all in a row! Those Halos® are tucked away safe in their bellies!
So many great ways you can share your Halos®! Um, if you really want to share them…
