My Weight Is Out Of Control

My Weight Is Out Of Control

It’s Time For A Nutrisystem Weight Intervention

I'm proud to be a #NSNationBlogger. Click here to start your weight loss journey!
*As a Nutrisystem Blogger I will receive the program (including food) at no cost for the next 3 months so that I can give my honest opinion. #NSNation

Recently I accepted a spot as an #NSNation (Nutrisystem) Blogger. Why? I am almost 60 lbs over where I want to be, and unfortunately, every time I step on the scale, that number seems to grow. I’ve struggled off and on with my weight in the past, but once I got to be over 40 it got really hard to fight it. I am now at the point that I know I can’t ignore it any more. Nutrisystem is going to help me get back to a healthy weight, where I want to be.

My weight is why I don't like to post pictures of me.

My weight is why you don’t see pictures of me on the blog.

I heard on the news this morning that (according to the CDC) over 1/3 of the adults in the U.S. are obese. I know I’m counted in that 1/3. Please don’t tell me I’m not fat. I know I am, and I know it’s very unhealthy. I know that if I lost this extra weight, my knees would not be in so much pain. I know that my back problems would also improve. The little voices in my head also remind me that my mother has diabetes, and that I am headed for the same health issues, at an earlier age, if I don’t take control now. Now is the time.

I do love this Suede Outback Hat with Braided Band, even if I need to lose weight

Even my face is fat – it’s definitely time to lose this weight

Starting next week, my first week with Nutrisystem – will be the Turbo Takeoff. It’s an accelerated program that will help me get started losing this flab I’ve accumulated. It’s a full week (7 days) of breakfasts, lunches, dinners, Turbo Shakes, NutriCrush® Shakes, and a meal planner to help me through that important first week.

My weight makes me very self-conscious.

Ok, I’m ‘fessing up now, so pay attention. Right now, I weight 217 lbs. I’m telling you this because it will help me stay true to the program. I want this to work, so I want you to help hold me accountable. I’m not asking for criticism, because I criticize myself enough. I’m asking for support. I want to make this work. I’ve downloaded the NuMi app to my phone. I’ve been reading The Leaf to help me learn more ways to help me lose the weight. I will do this.

Well, if it makes you feel better, I am much fatter than you! (Lol, admit it…most of us are human enough that we feel a little better if we see someone bigger than us!) I’m diabetic & have limited mobility due to knee problems. (Yep, cartilage eventually breaks down completely after years of carrying too much weight.) I’m trying to lose weight, too, so I know how hard it is. Hang in there & don’t get discouraged. The best advice I can give: Accept that you will cheat now & then, but immediately get over it & move on toward your goal! Wallowing in guilt just drags you down.

    • Aww, Tamra. I hope you can get a handle on it soon. I totally understand the knee problems, as I also have them. Thank you for the tip, I’m sure I’ll use it! If you need me for support, friend me on FB (Kay Crismon Maher) and I’m sure we can hold each other up!

I wish I could afford Nutrisystem.
I am overweight too, maybe by about 20 to 25 pounds. I know what mine is from,,, besides age mine is lack of movement. I know it and yet find reasons not to move more,
Like right now, I have an hour or so , and instead of walking outside, putting in a DVD I am choosing to type on the computer.
You can do this,,, if I were to give advice it will be, sit less, move more,

    • Ellen, a lot of mine is lack of movement as well. I’m working on moving more by going for a 10 minute walk at least 3 times a day (suggested by Nutrisystems!). I’m hoping it works!
