Learning Words, Verses and Prayer

The Say & Pray Devotions book helps children learn their reading, Bible verses, and how to pray

Say & Pray Devotions is a follow-up book to the Say & Pray Bible, also written by Diane Stortz. I think it is the perfect book for children who are learning to read and memorize Bible verses.  It will help your child learn words, verses and how to pray. We all know that seeing the word next to the picture helps a child correlate the two. This book uses that practice to help your child learn to read. The pictures on each set of pages have the same theme. The theme of the pages, also correlates with the Bible verse found on the right page. The devotions in this book will help any child to grow in faith, while learning words, Bible memory verses and how to pray.

Say & Pray Devotions help children learn words, memory verses and how to pray.

As an adult, I’ve found that I have trouble memorizing verses. In fact, I’ve found most of the verses I do remember, are memory verses I learned growing up. The Bible verses in the book are short, and simply written, making them easy for younger children to memorize.

Say & Pray Devotions has easy to remember memory verses.

I also love that each verse is followed by a short prayer of thanksgiving. These prayers teach children to be thankful for everything they have. They also help children realize that everything they have comes from God. I think this is a good practice, since I often don’t think to thank Him for the simple things. The pages are thick board, which makes it a great book for younger children.

All my grand-children love the cute pictures in this book. They are colorful and all the characters have the sweetest faces. Even the animals in the story are adorable. The illustrations for Say and Pray Devotions were done by Sarah Ward. I just love her illustrations because they add so much to the book.
