Learn to Cook with Your American Girl
*I received this book to facilitate this review. All opinions are my own.
Does your daughter have an American Girl doll? Does your daughter like to cook? Three of my granddaughters are too old for the dolls, but the youngest has one. I know two of my granddaughters are moms, so they don’t really have a choice whether they cook or not. My two youngest granddaughters like to cook though, and the older one cooks pretty often. I got her this Williams Sonoma American Girl Cooking cookbook.
Williams Sonoma has a whole lot of American Girl products on their website. All sorts of cookbooks, mixes and cooking utensils branded with the American Girl logo. They are all really cute, but I really love this cookbook! American Girl Cooking is packed with healthy recipes that are easy enough for your daughter/granddaughter, but still packed full of flavor. She can build her cooking skills as well as her confidence with these recipes.
Recipes like Griddled Corn Fritters with Lime and Turkey Sliders with Aioli, will taste wonderful and make her proud that she made them herself (with mom’s supervision of course!). I really want to try these recipes, and a few more from this book. The Rosemary Roast Chicken looks like something my family would really love.
None of the recipes are to fancy or complicated. I don’t see any ingredients listed that aren’t already in my pantry, so you won’t spend a lot of money on items you don’t already keep in your pantry or fridge. As cold as it’s been lately, I’m thinking about making a big batch of that Chicken Noodle Soup. I’m pretty sure my family would love it.
The boys have already asked to make the Homemade Pizza, so don’t go thinking this book is only for your daughters. If you have boys who like to cook, it would make a great gift for them as well!
