Mother Son Date Night with Marvel Studios

Mother Son Date Night with Marvel Studios

Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok

I love my kids. The oldest four are not ‘kids’ any more (all in their 30’s), but they are still my kids.  I don’t get to see them as often as I want to see them, because everyone has their own adult lives. That is why, when I get the chance to spend a little one on one time, I grab it! So, when I was invited to a pre-screening of Thor: Raganarok, I called my son, and confirmed the tickets. We had a date night!

Dinner and a Movie

There is really only one pre-screening theater anywhere close to me, and it is about an hour’s drive away. My crazy son picked me up early, wearing these crazy sunglasses that someone had left in his store….

On date night, my son picks me up wearing these glasses.

We made it to the Edward’s Houston Marq’e Stadium theater in plenty of time. The crazy thing is, the line was already all the way down the side of the theater!!

The line to get into the movie on our date night

We decided to duck into Red Robin (right across from the theater!) and eat a burger and fries, since we were starving from missing dinner. We figured, since I had confirmed media tickets, if we weren’t getting in because we were late, we may as well eat first. It was really nice to sit and visit with him, about his job, the grandkids, and life in general. It’s something we really don’t have time to do often enough.

Once inside the theater, we really had fabulous seats. We took this selfie, and then waited for the movie to start…

Me and my fabulous date for Thor: Ragnarok

I have to admit, we had a great time. The movie was absolutely amazing. If you get the chance to see it, especially at an IMAX, you should go. The effects are really amazing, but for me what made the movie was the comedy. The one-liner exchanges between Thor and Loki had me thinking of my boys and how they pick at each other the exact same way. This movie is well worth the price.

Thor: Ragnarok for Mother-Son Date Night!

Kristoffer Saves The World

I couldn’t have asked for a more polite date, and it was wonderful to spend time with my son. We’ve decided to try to try to have a date night a little more often. Maybe this will be our next movie…
