Museum of the Bible Books Tour

Museum of the Bible Books are the perfect books for children for Christmas!

With twelve grandchildren, Christmas can sometimes seem daunting. The really wonderful thing is, they all love to read! So, when WorthyKids/Ideals asked me to be a part of the Museum of the Bible Books Blog Tour, I had to say YES! They sent me some really wonderful books that really are the perfect children’s books for Christmas. Let’s take a look at them!

What’s the Bible All About?

Museum of the Bible Books are the perfect books for children for Christmas!

This is a colorful little board book, for those toddlers on your list. It tells them the basics about the Bible; all the wonderful stories, where the stories came from and about the Old and New Testament. It helps get your toddler interested in hearing the stories that are in the Bible. The author is Patricia A. Pingry and it is beautifully illustrated by Pablo Pino.

Children of the World Storybook Bible

The author, Linda Washington, does an amazing job of telling the stories of the Bible, in this story book. All the great stories are in this book, from “God Creates the World” to “A Heavenly City”. The stories are listed following their order in the Bible. One of the things I love most about this book is that the illustrations are by children around the world. Every illustration has a dot that tells the child’s name, age and the country where they live. They really are beautiful illustrations. Another wonderful thing is that each story has the book, chapter and verse of the Bible so you can look it up. This way, children can learn to use their Bible as well! This is a great book for your elementary school age children.

THAT’S SO WEIRD!

This wonderful little book boasts “100 FUN and FASCINATING Facts about the Bible”. The author, Kathleen Long Bostrom, pens a very eye-catching book of interesting facts your child can find in the Bible. I really had fun reading this one myself! Did you know that David’s dancing embarrassed his wife, Micah? Yes! (2 Samuel 6:16). Each fact has the verse with it so your child can look it up. I think this book is wonderful for helping interest an older child in the Bible.

WILD and WACKY Things in the Bible

Museum of the Bible Books are the perfect books for children for Christmas!

Written by April Lotempio, this book ties facts from the Bible to simple facts today, making the story easier for your child to imagine. Each story also has the book chapter and verse of the Bible story right under the title, so your child can find it in their own Bible. A great example of this is Frogs in the Bed and Flies in the Soup, tells the story of the Israelites in captivity and the different plagues God sends down to convince Pharaoh to let His people go. Then there are facts about flies, locusts and frogs in a box on the side, to help a child visualize how awful those plagues could have been. Did you know a swarm of locusts can be up to 460 square miles in size? (That’s almost as big as Los Angeles, California!) My teen boys really like this book.
