Home-made Hot Chocolate Mix

*The information and gift card have been provided by the makers of Sweet’N Low® so that I could share my thoughts and information about the Sweet’N Low® Spread Sweet Holiday Cheer Sweepstakes and the fabulous home-made hot chocolate mix recipe. The opinions expressed in this post are my own and do not reflect the opinions of the makers of Sweet’N Low®.

I’m sure everyone has seen that Texas actually got some snow last week. It’s something that doesn’t usually happen around here. We may get flurries, but the weather conditions just never quite sync up so that it sticks, but it did last week! We actually had an accumulation of 2 inches in our area! The really cold temps can be a downer when you have animals you have to feed out in that weather. There is nothing better than a nice cup of hot chocolate when you come in from that!

This Hot Chocolate mix is a gift they will remember you for !

It Makes The Perfect Gift Too!

My grandkids all love this great hot chocolate mix recipe that I found on the Sweet’N Low® website under recipes. I thought it would be nice if they all had some to drink at home, so I’m whipping up a few batches to give to my daughters and daughters-in-law so they can make it for my grandkids. It’s a really easy recipe, with just 3 ingredients!

This recipe for Hot Chocolate from Sweet N'Low makes a great gift!

Recipe for a great home-made Instant Hot Chocolate Mix.
  • 5 Packets Sweet'N Low® zero calorie sweetener
  • 1 Cup Powdered Milk
  • 2 Tablespoons Unsweetened Cocoa
  • Small marshmallows
  1. Stir all the ingredients and layer with small marshmallows into a mason jar or other decorative dispenser jar.
  2. On a tag put the directions:
  3. Add 4 heaping teaspoons to 6 oz of hot water in a mug. Stir. Add marshmallows. Enjoy!
  4. You can also just attach a baggie of marshmallows to the side of the container if you don't want to mix them in.

It’s All In The Presentation!

Wrap it up in ribbons and it's a perfect gift for the paperboy, or mail person!

Being the crafty person that I am, I always have mason jars on hand in my craft room. I washed them out and dried them well, then layered the mix with marshmallows. Then, I tied on a few small candy canes, and a tag with directions, around the neck of the jar with ribbon. My grandkids like to stir their hot chocolate with candy canes to add a little peppermint flavor. I know the girls will love serving this hot chocolate to the grandkids on a cold day over Christmas break.

Just look at how rich and creamy! It's the perfect gift!
